The History behind American Pick-Up Salvage Inc.

Owned by William and Shawnda Bandy, American Pick-Up Salvage Inc. was started in August of 2001. We dismantle roughly 150-160 Chevy, GMC, Ford, Dodge and Jeep trucks, vans and SUVs every year. William Bandy has over 29 years experience building and dismantling trucks back in high school. He graduated from Oak Grove high school in 1984 and went to Black River technical college and graduated in 1986 with 2500 hours in auto technology. He worked as a mechanic until 1988 and opened Bandy’s Body Shop. In 1990 William Bandy opened Chevy Truck Sales specializing in rebuilding wrecked chevy trucks. They restored 67-72 Chevy Trucks, 68-72 Chevy Novas, as well as rebuilding late model Chevy Trucks.

In august 2001 we closed down Bandy’s Body Shop and began specializing in selling only chevy truck parts. In July 2004 they started selling Jeep, Dodge and Ford parts along with our Chevy and GMC parts. They now specialize in clean late model truck, van and SUV parts.

Our Staff

The owner is William Bandy and he has over 29 years experience building and dismantling trucks.

Shawnda is our office manager and is married to the owner William Bandy. They have been married since october of 1994. She came to work for American Pick-Up Salvage in 2005.

We have one counter salesperson his name is Isaiah. Isaiah has been here at American Pick-Up Salvage since the summer of 2004. He began working part time when he was 15 years old. He washed cars, mowed the grass and eventually stared pulling parts full time. He has been selling parts with American Pick-Up Salvage Inc. for the last two and a half years.

We also have 2 full time dismantles. Leslie (Bub) Morgan has been here at American Pick-Up Salvage Inc. since 2004. Ryan Ranggel started working here in 2011.

What do we do at American Pick-Up Salvage Inc.?

We begin by pre-dismantling. Pre-dismantling means that when a wrecked truck comes in we take the whole vehicle apart. All of the fluids ( gas, oil, antifreeze, freon, brake fluid, mercury switches, etc) and tires are recycled. We do not let them back into the environment. All of the good sellable parts are inventoried in to a parts inventory system. We have our own car crusher. It is a RM Johnson E-Z Crusher for crushing the scrap metal and junk bodies. Our computer system is a Fast Parts System and the parts hot line that we are are on is Fastnet.

We have 2 dismantling bays for tearing down the vehicles as well as 15,0000 square feet of warehouse space. We have a shipping department for shipping parts either thru ltl truck freight or UPS or the USPS.

What do we do specialize in at American Pick-Up Salvage Inc.?

We specialize in selling GM engine LS1,LSX engine packages. We sell them as complete lift outs with the transmission still on them as well as all computers and wiring and all front accessories. The starter and the mass air flow sensor is also included. We stock lLS1 conversion motor mounts as well as some swap oil pans. We crate all of our engines in special built 6 sided wooden crates to protect them during shipment.
